PENGARUH PERAN PENDETA TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN DAN PENERAPAN DOKTRIN BAIT SUCI DI LINGKUNGAN GEREJA MASEHI ADVENT HARI KETUJUH

Abstract

This research aims to enhance the role of the pastorin educating and equipping the church members have a basic understanding on theological teachings on Sanctuary and apply it in their daily life. The understanding of that subject is very important to all of Church members so that members of the church held a needed to benefit from the preparation from the merit of priesthood of Christ for all who yearn to obtain eternal life in His Kingdom.  Each member of the church needs to have a theological understanding of the doctrine of the sanctuary. It means to understand the death of Jesus on the cross as a Lamb of God who died and slain replace the death of his people. The result of this study indicate that the level of understanding of the church members on the doctrine of Sanctuary (Y₁) was on the score value 2.976 or hesitation and the implementation (Y₂) was on the the score value 2.128 or disagree. The influence of the pastor's role as educator in teaching that doctrine  towards the theological understanding of the church members of Seventh-day Adventists throughout the municipality Pematangsiantar on sanctuary doctrine based on the book of Hebrews 8: 1-2 are at 0,316 or 9.9% and the influence of the pastor's role as an educator of the church towards the implementation of the doctrine of Sanctuary in the life of the church members are at 0.369 or 13.6%. It means that contributions or donations given by the pastor toward the understanding of the church members (Y1) and toward the implementation of the doctrine of sanctuary in the life of the church members (Y2) exists but is weak or insignificant.  Based on the results of this research will provide advice to Church’s Pastor in order to further enhance its role in teaching the doctrine of the sanctuary and its application, that the members of church become more proficient on that subject and should prepare themselves worthy to receive the merit of Christ mediation’s services in the Sanctuary in Heaven.
